This 10-hour workshop focuses on early literacy instruction.  Preschool teachers will learn how to create a solid foundation for reading success as well as how to identify students with red flags for reading difficulty.

This 15-hour, Orton-Gillingham Academy-aligned workshop explores the writing process from sentence structure to paragraph development, covering organization, drafting, and editing to support student success.

Attendees will be provided with tools and instructional procedures for teaching morphology to students in lower and upper elementary grades in one-on-one and group settings.

Associate Practicum

The Associate Practicum is only open to those who have recently completed Associate training (ideally within the past two years). All those accepted into the Associate Practicum will be mentored by a Fellow (or Fellow-in-Training) to continue refining skills to integrate and apply the knowledge, concepts, and skills learned during the Associate coursework in a remedial setting.

The Supervising Fellow (or Fellow-in-Training) will observe a 40-60 minute lesson on 10 separate occasions and provide written and verbal feedback as well as ongoing support over the course of the practicum program.

After completion of the practicum, the individual will be qualified to apply for certification with The Orton-Gillingham Academy at the Associate Level.

Registration

By invitation only: applications for the Associate Practicum will be available August 1st of each year. We will notify applicants of their acceptance by September 1st.

Cost

$3,000 - The cost includes ten observations of lessons, each lasting 40 to 60 minutes; observations include both written and verbal feedback from the Supervising Fellow or Fellow-in-Training, provided over the course of one year. Additionally, the cost includes a review of the Associate application for certification with the Orton-Gillingham Academy.
