- Workshop
This 10-hour workshop focuses on early literacy instruction. Preschool teachers will learn how to create a solid foundation for reading success as well as how to identify students with red flags for reading difficulty.
At ReadSource, our practicum programs offer educators the opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience with the Orton-Gillingham Approach at the Classroom Educator, Associate, and Clinical Levels through the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA).
These programs are designed to help participants refine their instructional techniques and deepen their understanding of how to effectively teach students with dyslexia and other reading challenges.
Through supervised mentorship and real-world application, educators develop the skills needed to deliver individualized and impactful instruction. To learn more about the practicum requirements and membership levels, please visit the Orton-Gillingham Academy's website.
The Classroom Educator Practicum offers participants mentorship and support to refine their OG skills in a classroom setting (with the opportunity to seek certification upon completion). This practicum is specific to the Classroom Educator Level and no longer applies to the Associate Level.
The Associate Practicum is open to those who have recently completed Associate training and offers mentorship to refine Orton-Gillingham skills in a remedial setting. Participants can apply for certification at the Associate Level upon completion.
The Clinical Practicum provides mentorship to deepen knowledge about dyslexia, with ongoing support over two years. Participants can apply for certification at the Clinical Level upon completion.
